this week in review --

things i've indulged in the past week ;

watching the first two seasons of gossip girl ; i've recently found my first two dvd sets of the gossip girl and i've become completely indulged once more into the wicked lives of the upper east side since i've been super sick. I'm itching to get season three now its killing me!

starting to eat healthier and better ; a recent result from the doctors office has called me to drastically change the diet, eating healthier  and actual balanced meals. Anyone whose moved out on their own as a student (earning the lovely title 'starving student') knows that balanced meal is hard to come by.

figuring out my art series for my portfolio ; this one came as a surprise to me, as i defiantly was not expecting to find a theme for my art portfolio this early on. For the art school, you have to construct a series of paintings or some art form of things that are important to you, that inspire you. I've been thinking about doing childhood re-occuring dreams! something thats always happened to be is as a child I would have the same few dreams over and over, only to find out that they had actually happened to me when I was little! I'll keep you updated on how that works for me haha.

websites that have got me through this week ; Doe Deere's blogazine is something I make sure I check daily, as I love the makeup tutorials and her edgy photoshoots... i find that she likes to push the envelope into whats the 'norm' and what 'beautiful' is ; galadarling is the other website i find myself frequenting quite often as I love her articles, her podcasts and basically just everything she does! I'd defiantly recommend checking her out.

Tuesday, January 11th 2011 -- New Year's Goals

So I bought myself a half priced organizer for my life a couple days after the new year, since.. it was cheaper and i wanted one. I found one I liked.. it was called a "poshplanner" or something silly.

I like it because it has a calender that's a month on each page in the beginning but then is like a normal agenda looking object after-wards, to write in all your appointments and dates. In the back, the obvious contact list and emergency numbers but the size and the set up of this basic organizer makes my world go 'round right now!

In the notes section, on the first page I put a page called "new years goals" simply because I like the word goals instead of resolutions, the world goal just makes it seem a little more real to me. Nobody really ever follows their resolutions, but setting goals for yourself seems a bit more realistic.

Somethings I put in my 'New Years Goals' list are things to help me not only better my health but my social life and my over all sanity.

  • Make a submission for my art portfolio, at least one good piece a month.
  • Go out on an outing with friends at least once a month (i'm not the best with making plans and keeping them, or being social and going out the best of times.. so setting this one low was necessary as it makes me feel better since as of today, I've gone out twice with friends)
  • Go see a movie in theatres once a month (Not to be counted as an outing with friends, unless hangoutage (my own word...) occurs before and or after the movie)
  • Start eating healthier and taking care of myself (a recent doctors visit has 'caused me to now drastically to do this goal, as its important to my health after I had set this goal for myself.)
  • Purge my closet and belongings in June and again in December, donate everything I need to part with.
  • Try to be nicer in the long run of things. (this.. may seem silly to those who do not know me... but trust me.)

These are just a few out of the page of long things, a lot have a time limit on them (like the art pieces one) and some are just for me to complete within the year. Usually I set un-realistic things to do then feel crummy when I don't accomplish the things I set. Though, even while setting those things before, I knew I wouldn't be able to do them. This year however I hope to have better luck!

(ps; another goal is blog at least once a week! :D <3 )

new beginnings

hello blogging world!

here i am, and i must confess i abandoned my old blog because it just wasn't me and i didn't know what to blog about. however, new year new you is my motto for 2011. I needed a place to keep it all under wraps and under control so, here is my brand new sparkling blog for 2011. If you're interested in weird ramblings, things i love thursdays, music mondays and other crazy things that pop off the top of my head this is possibly the best place for you. If you need something in your day to make you laugh or wonder what the hell is going on in the head of a slightly crazy 20-something girl... i'm here for that too!

I'm just doing this as filler until my mind finishes the first post of my brand new blog.
